Data da ocorrência acidental: 28-07-2026
Casualty Event: Flooding (massive/progressive)
Summary
On 28 July 2026, AMURAS recovered a purse seine heavily entangled with small fish, significantly increasing the weight of the fishing gear. The Master estimated that the net, retained fish and water weighed close to 10 tonnes.
The crew placed water in tubs forward to compensate for the weight concentrated aft. The vessel returned to Figueira da Foz at low speed and berthed apparently upright. Shortly after the crew disembarked, AMURAS developed a rapid heel to port, capsized and sank alongside. Pollution-containment booms were deployed.
